HOW IT WORKS
It is really simple to participate:
After you build your AeroRacers aircraft, have your instructor time one or more flights after you are familiar with your aircraft.
Check out the rules and regulations portion of this competition for details on how to time your aircraft.
You can then enter the Great American Aero Derby Online Challenge at no cost.
That's right, it is all free and you can win some cool prizes. All you have to do is have your instructor sign up and submit your name and flight times.
You may only submit your name once per aircraft type with the best time flown. You may, however, submit your name again if you build and fly a different aircraft.
Since students from around the United States will participate in this competition, they will fly their aircraft at different temperatures and altitudes thereby not allowing for a level "playing field". The planes can also be flown indoors and/or outdoors.
An aircraft flown outside at low altitude in high heat like Phoenix, AZ has the potential to fly a lot longer than the same aircraft flying in Denver, Colorado during winter time. In order to make this competition even, winners will be chosen at random by Great American Aero Derby officials.
No entries may be submitted after 23:59 hrs on Thursday, April 15th, 2010
Winners for the 2009-2010 GAAD Online Challenge will be announced on the website on Monday, April 19th 2010.
The instructors of the winning students will then be notified via email and the prizes will be sent via UPS regular ground to the school address submitted during registration. The instructor can then distribute the prizes to the winning students.
We also encourage students to submit any memorable experiences while flying their aircraft to the website for publishing. The best story will also be rewarded with a prize.
Prizes will consist of AeroRacers products featured in the current line up.
