How to time your aircraft:
The timer should position him/herself behind the pilot holding the aircraft ready for flight. The pilot should prompt the timer as to whether the timer is ready and whether the stopwatch is correctly set to zero.
Powered Flight:
The timer starts the stopwatch when the aircraft leaves the competitor's hands. The timer stops the stopwatch when:
a) the aircraft flies out of sight of the timer
b) hits an obstacle in flight (tree, building....) and stops flying
c) the aircraft touches the ground upon landing.
Glider Flight:
The timer starts the stopwatch when the aircraft leaves the competitor's hands. The timer stops the stopwatch when:
a) the aircraft flies out of sight of the timer
b) hits an obstacle in flight (tree, building....) and stops flying
c) the aircraft touches the ground upon landing.
The timer should note down all the flight times flown for the day along with aircraft type and the pilot who flew them in case there are more than 1 pilot.
